Four new ParkYourBike facilities, with a total capacity of 96 new parking spaces, are expanding the offer of protected bicycle parking in Berlin.
The news was announced during the opening of a facility next to the Friedrichsfelde Ost S-Bahn station on April 12.
In addition, facilities at Alt-Mariendorf underground station and Schöneweide S-Bahn station have also started operating, and the Wutzkyallee underground station will receive a facility by the end of May. The pilot operation phase will run until July 8 and during this period parking will be free of charge.
ParkYourBike facilities are operated via digital booking and access control system developed by Viaboxx for GB infraVelo GmbH. The system offers cyclists easy access to protected parking spaces, with flexible reservation and booking options, either in advance (via web app) or on site.
In operation since November 2022, the first ParkYourBike facility is located at the city hall Schönenberg.
New facilities and a mobile app for iOS and Android are planned for 2024.
